US Air Force

DCS Corp has leveraged its technical capabilities and Navy weapons expertise to broaden our customer base to encompass US Air Force customers. Our capabilities in Modeling and Simulation, Sensor engineering, conventional and smart weapons development, aircraft weapons integration, mission planning systems, and test and evaluation are being applied to advanced development programs managed by the Air Force, and jointly by Air Force and Navy program managers. We support the US Air Force Advanced Weapons Joint Program Offices (JPOs); the 46th Test Wing’s Guided Weapons Evaluation Facility (GWEF); and the Air Force Research Laboratory’s Kinetic Kill Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation (KHILS) facility.

DCS Corp is a critical contributor to the Small Diameter Bomb II, Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM), and Laser JDAM major acquisition programs with technical expertise in development, testing, aircraft integration and sustainment. Our engineers support the on-going SDB II program ensuring technical integration requirements for all services are met to include proper integration onto the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. We have a lead role in the transition of all fighter aircraft weapon mission planning to the Precision Guided Munitions Planning Software system, and support development of Launch Acceptance Region calculations for mission planning implementation for multiple precision guided munitions.

Modeling and Simulation

We provide on-site engineering to the GWEF, whose mission is to test and evaluate tactical precision-guided weapons and countermeasures systems within hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) simulated, real-world environments. DCS expertise is applied to multimode simulator development, integration, calibration and operation. Our engineers also generate and perform analyses of signal/image data products from IR and MMW simulators and seekers under test in support of HWIL verification, validation, and performance assessment. We support the Large Aircraft IR Countermeasures, Large Aircraft Survivability Initiative, and Directed IR Countermeasures effectiveness testing programs, and are creating a multispectral HWIL test environment for advanced multimode seekers. Our technical focus is Tactical Simulation Test Environmental Development including real-time Projection/Integration and Scene Generation to include the modeling and verification of ground and airborne targets and terrains for observation by both Imaging IR and Millimeter Wave multimode tactical seekers.

DCS Corp also provides on-site engineering to the AFRL KHILS whose mission is development of HWIL test technologies for scene projectors, projector control electronics, high frequency motion simulation, and synthetic scene generation. Our technical focus is development of digital simulation test environments for the evaluation and testing of target discrimination algorithms utilizing a multiprocessor environment to characterize performance over a vast parameter space. Our engineers provide support for real-time HWIL demonstration efforts, specifically in the area of autonomous target recognition (ATR) software for precision guided weapons using imagery from IR scene projector hardware. We also support the test and evaluation, to include test planning, execution, and data analysis of synthetic scene generation software for rendering realistic IR imagery. These efforts relate directly to Threat Engineering, Specialty Sensors Engineering, Lethality, and Truth Data Analysis and Algorithm Development, all in the context of HWIL planning and assessments involving Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) sensors.
