ALEXANDRA, VA – September 28, 2015 – DCS as a member of the DCS-Millennium Joint Venture was awarded the $4.5M Army contract to support the Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD) in its efforts to develop and mature an integrated, multi-function, low-cost electro-optical infrared (EO/IR)-based Hostile Fire Detection and Location (HFLD) and Local Situational Awareness (LSA) system for ground vehicle platforms. As a trusted partner, DCS will support NVESD’s desire to continue to develop and mature low-cost, low SWAP (size, weight, and power) HFLD and LSA systems, package these systems into common enclosure, and integrate the combined HFDL/LSA sensor system with the Improved Mobility and Operational Performance through Autonomous Technologies (IMOPAT) system onto a ground combat vehicle to provide 360-degree coverage for the vehicle crew.
