As one of our core technologies, DCS scientists and engineers are engaged in all aspects of sensor systems development, including analysis, development, acquisition support, integration, and testing of sensors for military and commercial applications.

DCS applies engineering expertise in optical and electro-optical sensors and technology to advanced night vision systems, targeting/fire control, navigation, and countermine initiatives for the warfighter.

Our customers include all branches of the military and many government agencies, as well as commercial customers, who depend on DCS to solve problems through systems engineering processes for diverse applications of sensors technology:

  • Imaging Electro-optical sensors
  • Night Vision Sensors
  • Lasers
  • Radar
  • GPS Navigation sensors
  • Countermine sensor technology
  • Multi-sensor fusion concepts
  • Image Processing
  • Machine Vision
  • Robotic / Unmanned System Sensors/Payloads

DCS offers nearly 30 years of experience in evaluation, integration, and test of imaging sensors, multi-sensor fusion concepts, hyperspectral sensors, and image processing for target acquisition, missile seeker, C4ISR, and machine vision applications.

Typical client engagements include:

  • Providing programmatic and systems engineering support in the integration of advanced targeting sensors on U.S. Navy and Marine Corps aircraft such as the F/A-18 Hornet.

  • Developing custom instrumentation for sensor data collection and analysis in laboratory, flight test, test range, and manufacturing environments

  • Applying our understanding of physics-based phenomenology to development, VV&A, and use of analytical models and simulations of advanced sensors in tactical and space-based environments

  • Providing staff expertise in human factors engineering and visual perception, to optimize information transfer at the sensor Man-Machine Interface.

  • Supporting DoD laboratories, MDA, and PEO/PM customers in the analysis, acquisition, and integration of laser, radar, and GPS navigation, to countermine, robotic/unmanned systems, advanced C4ISR, and missile system applications.

  • Supporting development and built four flight-worthy reconnaissance pods for F-14 fleet evaluation of advanced completely digital large format cameras, data link, and solid state recorders.

Our corporate record of successful Small Business Innovative Research projects for the Army, Navy, and Air Force is heavily leveraged by our expertise in Sensor Technology and our rapid prototyping laboratories.
