Why We Collect and Use Your Personal Information.

DCS Corporation collects and uses your personal information for the purpose of determining your qualifications for employment and reaching a hiring decision, as well as to comply with applicable laws and regulations.  Relevant portions of your personal information, if you are hired, also will be used to establish a basic employment record. We do not collect or use the personal information you submit as a job applicant for unrelated purposes.

Why we collect your Social Security Number.

DCS Corporation will use your Social Security Number in its personnel administration in order to verify employee identity, verify security clearance status,  obtain and verify employee work history and other background information, for payroll processing purposes, for worker’s compensation benefits administration, and to provide the information to its administrators/insurance carriers for their administrative purposes in the provision and administration of retirement, health, and other welfare and fringe benefits to DCS employees.  The information will be maintained by DCS in a system of records and used by and disclosed to DCS personnel, the Department of Homeland Security (“DHS”), the Department of Defense (“DOD”), to DCS’s workers compensation administrator/insurance carrier when a claim is filed, and/or to DCS’s administrators/insurance carriers. The DHS Blanket Routine Use set forth at 73 Fed.Reg. 63172 (October 23, 2008), the DOD Blanket Routine Use set forth at 71 Fed.Reg. 40282 (Jul. 14, 2006), Executive Order 9397 (3 C.F.R. (1943-1948 Comp.) 283-284, and the government-wide Office of Personnel Management Routine Use set forth at 65 Fed.Reg. 24732 (Apr. 27, 2000) apply.  Disclosure:  Furnishing your Social Security Number is voluntary; however, failure to furnish the requested information may delay the employment application process and delay or prevent the provision of and administration of your employee benefits, payroll processing, and other personnel administration functions.

How We Collect Personal Information about You.

Most of the personal information DCS Corporation collects about you is collected directly from your application or resume, and stored on third party servers.  We may also collect information about you from third parties, in order to: (a) verify information about your credentials, such as education and prior employment, (b) follow-up on references that you may provide, and (c) conduct background investigations. It is DCS Corporation’s policy to collect such information from third parties only with your knowledge and agreement. Third party vendors used by DCS Corporation for the purposes stated above are subject to their own privacy policy and any information collected is governed by the terms of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).  Should DCS Corporation wish to obtain such third party information about you, and you have not completed an employment application authorizing us to do so, we will contact you and request your authorization to proceed.

Disclosures of Your Personal Information.

Access to your information will be restricted to those DCS Corporation staff and designated agents who have a need to know the specific information in question in order to carry out their responsibilities with regard to recruitment. Your information may also be disclosed to governmental entities in compliance with applicable laws, such as to those agencies authorized to review and enforce equal opportunity laws. We do not disclose applicant information to job banks, or to other companies or external parties other than those mentioned previously.

Once you have established a Profile through this website, you will have online access to correct or update the information it contains.

Retention and Deletion of Your Personal Information.

DCS Corporation retains your personal information only as long as is necessary for evaluation for employment, as well as to comply with applicable laws relating to the evaluation of those seeking employment. If you are hired, DCS will use relevant portions of your personal information to establish a basic employment record.

Safeguards.

DCS Corporation uses appropriate administrative, technical, personnel, and physical measures to safeguard your personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized use or modification. In addition, we exercise special precautions in dealing with applicant personal data defined as sensitive by law. For example, if satisfactory completion of a medical examination or drug test is a condition for being hired, no medical information, apart from overall suitability or unsuitability for employment, is provided to hiring managers or stored in a new employee’s personnel file.
