DCS was founded on the ideal that employees are integral to corporate success and should be empowered to actively contribute and lead to that success. This principle has been the driving force of our corporate philosophy and strategy for over 35 years. The benefit to our customers is a rapid response and task completion focus from DCS employees who know they are empowered to act.

We believe that employee empowerment is foundational to what makes DCS and our employees different. Our 100% employee-owned status offers benefits to DCS employees that we believe distinguish DCS from most companies in our industry. Our employee-owner culture fosters an open and responsive environment that allows employees to have a real voice in the management of the company. As stakeholders in success of the company, our employees are motivated to identify efficiency opportunities and provide meaningful input to strategic direction of the company.

We believe that employee empowerment directly enhances our ability to deliver high quality solutions because each DCS employee-owner is especially motivated to seek the best result for their customer.

Why DCS

Your search for a new career has led you to a company founded on the principles of trust and integrity.

Problem Solvers

At DCS, employee-owners are stakeholders in the success of our business. We have a vested interest in helping our customers solve problems and develop solutions that contribute to the safety and security of our nation.

As engineers, scientists, program managers, and business process experts, our employee-owners display a natural inquisitiveness and willingness to explore innovative alternatives that result in the best solution for our customer. Throughout its history, DCS has fostered employee initiative and entrepreneurism by rewarding employee-owners’ efforts to proactively solve problems and develop solutions that address our customers’ needs.

Some examples of our problem-solving culture have resulted in improvements to our company and to the customers that we support. Extraordinary efforts and results are recognized with Business Improvement Program awards. These awards are discretionary bonus opportunities that help recognize significant contributions and reinforce related, desired behaviors.

Employee Programs

DCS employees take an active role in their own professional development as well as in directly contributing to our company’s success. Participation at all levels of the organization is encouraged. We have established the following programs to promote employee growth and allow for active participation in company management.

Career Planning

We have defined each role within our organization and developed resources for employees to understand the level of skill and experience needed to achieve any position in the organization. Using these resources as a guide, employees are able to match career aspirations with internal guidance and develop career plans, which include opportunities to acquire additional training and education with support of company tools and resources.

DCS University

Because we are committed to continual improvement, we provide educational and training resources to our employees. DCS University combines online training courses with in-person training and covers a wide range of business and procedural topics. Our employees have access to DCS University at all times and are able to complete certification programs that leverage value to our customers.

Process and Executive Action Teams

Process Action Teams (PATs) and Executive Action Teams (EATs) are composed of employees at various levels within the organization. The employee-led programs address continual improvement initiatives that support our strategic plan and our objective to consistently exceed customer expectations.

Table Talks

On a semi-annual basis, our senior leadership team travels to each DCS location for Table Talk presentations designed to provide an update on company performance, strategic initiatives, and future business concerns. Table Talks provide a forum where employees have direct access to senior leadership to ask questions and discuss the company’s strategic plans and performance.

"We are all owners. As owners, our feedback matters."
