Lura Roach, a DCS Corporation Strategic Communications Analyst, recently completed the Leadership Southern Maryland Emerging Leaders Program (LEAP). A resident of Mechanicsville, MD, Lura was one of 19 applicants chosen to participate in the second year of this program.
“The 19 individuals representing our second class of the Leadership Southern Maryland Emerging Leaders Program have demonstrated their commitment to self-discovery and professional development, their eagerness to be engaged and impactful citizens of our region, and their flexibility as we navigated this new curriculum amidst a global pandemic,” said Denise Foster, Executive Director, Leadership Southern Maryland.
The LEAP Program focuses on professional and community leaders in Southern Maryland who are either new to the region or early in their careers. The class completed six sessions over the course of six months, each designed to empower participants to foster and refine their leadership understanding and abilities, while advancing their self-discovery, teamwork and networking skills. The class also worked in groups to complete a culminating community service project.
