Specialized Test Labs

DCS manages and operates specialized research and testing facilities that provide unique system and subsystem‑level evaluation capabilities not available in industry. These facilities support testing of life‑support and aircrew oxygen systems, biodynamic and biomechanical responses, and military subsystems including sensors, avionics, datalinks, guidance and control, turbine‑engine technologies, and advanced instrumentation. They enable laboratory, ground, and flight testing across aircraft, missile, and unmanned platforms. Through Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADAs) and Commercial Test Agreements, industry and partners can access these government‑owned capabilities, including the AFRL Biodynamics Facility, AFLCMC LSS‑STAQ Lab, and AFRL Compressor Research Facility.
